What happened?

Venezia FC confirmed the permanent arrival of goalkeeper Alessio Pozzi from Vis Pesaro. Pozzi, born in 2000, has signed a five-year deal keeping him at the club until 2030. The keeper arrives after a standout Serie C season with Vis Pesaro, where he made 35 appearances and kept 12 clean sheets.

Why this signing matters for Venezia FC

Pozzi joins at a crucial time for Venezia, who dominated Serie B last season with 82 points, 24 wins, 10 draws and 4 losses. With 77 goals scored and just 31 conceded (+46 goal difference), the club is targeting promotion once again. The 2000-born goalkeeper brings Serie C and Serie D experience, plus a strong reputation between the posts.

Pozzi’s career before Venezia FC

Pozzi came through the youth ranks at Maceratese and Avellino before spells at San Marino and Messina in Serie D. In 2020 he moved to Carpi, making his professional debut in Serie C. He later played for Pistoiese, Fermana, Akragas, Trapani and Sorrento, building up appearances and reliability. At Vis Pesaro in 2024-25 he made 35 appearances and kept 12 clean sheets, showing maturity and consistency.

The new signing’s words

I’m very happy to have arrived at a prestigious club like Venezia”, Pozzi said. “I followed the team’s progress closely last season when it dominated Serie B, leaving me with a very positive impression. From the first meeting with the Director I felt great enthusiasm and ambition: he outlined the club’s project and future prospects, convincing me straight away. I want to thank him and the entire club for the trust they’ve placed in me. I’ll give my all every day to repay that on the pitch and help the team reach its goals. I also want to thank Vis Pesaro for the shared journey and the growth opportunity they offered me”.
