Venezia FC has reached an important milestone with the call-up of three players for the 2026 World Cup. Captain Michael Svoboda has been called up to strengthen Austria's midfield, which returns to the world cup after 28 years of absence. Today, June 1, the official announcements for the last two have arrived. One is John Yeboah, a German and Ecuadorian striker, who has however chosen the South American national team for some time. Ecuador is at its second consecutive world cup participation, the fifth in history, and will try to surprise. In the group, Yeboah will face Germany. The third is Marko Farji, an Iraqi footballer (but born and raised in Norway), who arrived in Venice in January 2026, contributing to the promotion. Farji will also have a derby in the group, where he will face Norway. For Iraq, it is the first participation in the world cup after 40 years. A bit of Laguna, in the stadiums from Mexico City to Toronto, will be there.
